VA Beach Trip

Went to the beach last weekend with some sweet friends. It was a little windy, but overall a really great time. It’s finally feeling like spring. Love this weather and the extra hour of sun. Enjoy some pictures from the weekend.

Women Vs. Wild

Climbing Old Rag Mountain.

Peanut butter sandwiches, a great friend, good conversation, lots of laughing, and the feeling of conquering a mountain (even though today it kind of feels like that mountain kicked my butt)…all things that I love.

Welcome Home

A little while ago I went for a hike with my brother, Jake, up to Humpback Rock. It might be one of my favorite places around here with a 360 degree view from the top of the mountain. On one of the rocks I noticed that someone had engraved “Welcome Home.” On top of a mountain we feel at home? I know this may not be true for everyone (especially if you are afraid of heights) but I think there is a something to be said about this. When climbing up, it got really steep near the top and we were tired. I wanted to take a break but Jake said he couldn’t, he was too excited about getting there. He wanted to see the view, to accomplish the task, and to fulfill his purpose. When I reached the top of the mountain, I felt a lot of things. I was tired, weak, relieved, but most of all, I felt alive. We were at a greater place; a place surrounded by things bigger than us; a place where we felt insignificant and significant at the same time. At the top we were home.
