I do not schedule photo shoots back to back, so we won't miss a shot because we ran out of time. It means the session will be more relaxed. Anxious pets have time to get comfortable. Excited pets have a chance to play and calm down. And, if I cannot capture the shots we want because your pet is tired or overwhelmed, we will reschedule for another day.
Nope. Your dog will act like a dog. Your cat won't listen to a thing we say.
We want your pet to act like themselves, so we can capture their expressions and personality. Dogs don't look natural when they are concentrating on commands. Cats will do as they please. Don't worry.
NO! Your pet's safety is our number one concern. Your pet must be on a leash if we are in an unfenced area.
With the magic of Photoshop, leashes disappear. You will never know your dog was wearing one. I have extra long leads, so your dog can move and run and still be safe.
I have a studio in my home. As a working mom, it allows me to be home for my kids. It also substantially reduces my costs. I would have to schedule many more photo shoots just to pay the rent for a studio in downtown Naperville. I would rather focus on the quality of my shoots than the quantity.
It is increasingly common for photographers to not have studios, because clients want to have the photo shoot at their home or other location. If I ever need a larger space, there are studios available in Naperville to rent for a day.
During the shoot, I will likely take hundreds of photos. I will curate a small collection of the best images and do the initial editing for color, tone, white balance, contrast, and sharpness. The images will be uploaded to a private online gallery.
We will schedule a print consultation, preferably in person. The consultation is for your benefit. I don't like high pressure sales tactics, so I don't use them. My goal is to show you the options available and to answer any of your questions. I will walk you through the many choices for printing, framing and products and albums. I will answer your questions and help you make choices that fit your needs and your home. You do not need to make an on-the-spot decision if you are still undecided.
The print consultation could take as little as 15 minutes if you have already made decisions, or an hour if you have questions or want more guidance. I want you to be happy with your choices.
I am confidant that you will love your pet's photos, but before the order is placed, you are welcome to change your mind. You probably won't.
All sales are final once the order is placed.
Until then, feel free to make changes, cancel or ask questions. Please remember, the retainer fee is non-refundable if you cancel.
To reschedule please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org as soon as possible.
Things happen. I do not charge a rescheduling fee for clients who give 48 hours notice. We will reschedule for a mutually convenient time. Rescheduling requests made within 48 hours of a scheduled pet portrait appointment require a second retainer to be paid at the time of rescheduling. The minimum print commitment is also increased by this amount. All retainer fees will be waived if the minimum print commitment is paid.
Weather. If it looks like rain or inclement weather during your outdoor photo shoot, you are welcome to change it to a studio session or reschedule without additional retainer fees. Due to the use of expensive electronic equipment, I do not shoot in the rain.
Yes. You may bring props. A favorite toy, blanket, dog bed or outfit can be a nice addition to your pet's portrait. Please be aware that the wrinkles, stains or tears WILL SHOW in the photos and may not be able to be edited out or will incur an editing fee for substantial editing work.
In order to prevent the transmission of parasites and disease, Amy Jackson Photography does not maintain clothing props. All pets are required to be up to date on all vaccines and preventative flea and tick medications.
I do work with puppies that are too young to complete scheduled vacinations as long as they are parasite free. I do not work with any dog with parasites or communicable diseases. Nor do I work with adult dogs that are not up to date with their vaccines. The safety of our clients and pets is first and foremost.
All pets must be accompanied by an adult who is familiar with the pet and comfortable handling them. Photo shoots may be stressful for some animals. A familiar face helps put pets at ease.
You will be asked to handle your dog, get their attention and hold and serve treats. Please allow the photographer to give you instructions so that we elicit the best expressions and capture the best photographs.
